Downloading the Demo Versions

You can download a fully-functional demo copy of Stat/Transfer for Windows or the Mac. The demos are identical to fully-licensed copies, with the critical exception that they will delete about one out every sixteenth case from the output file. You can thus evaluate Stat/Transfer on your machine, but you will need to buy a license to use it for production work.

When you decide to purchase Stat/Transfer, we will send you an activation code or a license file via e-mail that removes the limitation of the demo version. We can also, if you like, send you a Windows Quick Start manual and cd-rom or a Mac manual and cd-rom.

The demo comes with a complete uninstall program if you should want to remove the program.

Windows Download Instructions

If you need to download the previous version of Stat/Transfer, Version 8 for Windows, click here.  Otherwise, continue reading the instructions below to download the current version, Version 9.

After you press the Download button below, a File Download box will appear in your browser and ask you if you want to Save or Open the file stdemo.exe.  You can do either.

If you choose to save the file, put it in any temporary directory and then install the Stat/Transfer demo by clicking on stdemo.exe from the Windows Explorer or by opening a Run dialog box from the Start menu and typing in the file name stdemo.exe.

If you choose to open the file, your browser will store it to a temporary directory and then run it for you.

During installation, the Install program will prompt you for a destination directory before it moves any files. You can choose the directory into which Stat/Transfer will be installed as well as choosing several classes of optional components, such as ODBC and Access support. When you are done, an icon for Stat/Transfer will be on your desktop and a new program group will be available on your Start Menu.

Starting the Program
To run Stat/Transfer, click your desktop icon or click on StatTransfer on the Start Menu.  The complete Stat/Transfer manual is available in the online help files, which you can reach by pressing the Help button from any of the tabs or by pressing F2.

Mac OS X Download Instructions

If you need to download the previous version of Stat/Transfer, Version 8 for MAC OS X, click here.  Otherwise, continue reading the instructions below to download the current version, Version 9.

After you press the Download button below, the disk image icon for the file stdemo.dmg will appear on your desktop.  Click on this icon and a new icon for StatTransferDemo will appear on your desktop. Click on the StatTransferDemo icon, which will open up a window with an icon for st_demo .  Click on the st_demo icon. This will run the Installer.

You will be prompted to enter the name and password of a user on your computer with administrative privileges

Then select Easy Install.  This will copy Stat/Transfer to your Applications folder and create a StatTransfer icon on your desktop. The demo files will be in your Documents folder in a subfolder named STDemo.

Starting the Program
You can run Stat/Transfer by clicking on your desktop icon.  The complete Stat/Transfer manual is available in the online help files which are accessible from the help button on each tab of the application.
